We've used Hostway for about 7 years. It started out fine. A few years ago they started outsourcing their tech support and everything has coming to a crashing halt. The issues are frequent and there are too many different issues to list all of them here. Their control panel hasn't worked on any of our accounts for several years, which means I always have to contact tech support to do even the smallest things, and often they don't even get it right the first time. Errors and glitches in the systems are constant. Right now our dedicated server is down because of an accidental reset? We've had to transfer our sites 2-3 times due to server failures and that is always a 2-week long nightmare. We also had some other clients on a ValueWeb server for several years without incident, and sure enough, as soon as Hostway took over, things started failing. We have a dedicated server and cannot even talk directly to the people with direct access to the servers. We have to talk to outsourced support overseas who say they don't have actual access to the servers so they relay the info to the dedicated server staff in the US, and they never have an ETA because they say don't have direct phone contact with them. Although I think that may have been a lie because one time I complained enough and they finally called a server tech for me. We have some shared hosting accounts as well and the issues are the same. I'm writing this now because we are finally giving up and transferring to a new host and I can't wait!! |
